Hi, I am a 5th-year Ph.D. candidate from Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences at University of Massachusetts Amherst. I work as a research assistant at the Center for Intelligent Information Retrieval (CIIR) under the mentorship of my advisor, Dr. James Allan. My research endeavors lie at the intersection of information retrieval, natural language processing, and machine learning (IR/NLP/ML). I work on various IR tasks, such as entity retrieval, multilingual retrieval, multimodal search and query by example, etc.

I received my master in Statistics from the University of Maryland, College Park and my bachelor in Applied Math from Sun Yat-sen University.

Jun 03, 2024 My internship work with Google, “Optimizing Large-Scale Context Retrieval for End-to-end ASR”, is accepted at Interspeech ‘24.
Oct 02, 2023 I’m joining Google as research intern.
Jul 24, 2023 Our paper “Hierarchical Transformer-based Query by Multiple Documents” received Best Paper Honorable Mention at ICTIR ‘23.
May 19, 2023 I defended my thesis proposal. Now, I am an ABD (All but dissertation).
Feb 16, 2023 We are the runner up of MIRACL, WSDM Cup 2023. Check our solution here.
