Biography

Hello! I am a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I also earned my Ph.D. here, where I worked with Prof. Prashant Shenoy, in the Laboratory for Advance Software Systems (LASS). My research interests include smart grids, smart buildings, and renewable energy with emphasis on sustainability (e.g. mitigating greenhouse gas emissions). I also have interests in computer networks, privacy & fairness, and computing education.

Prior coming to UMass, I joined a startup company called Piggipo. We developed a mobile app that help Thai people manage and reduce their credit card debt. We won DTAC Accelerate Program in 2014 and got funded by 500 Startups Thailand. It was an amazing time in my life! I got a chance to meet many nice and brilliant people around the world, which, in the end, led me to my journey to the U.S.

Afterward, during my Ph.D., I had the opportunity to co-teach Computer Networks with Prof. Jim Kurose, who has been an extraordinary mentor! I found myself enjoying teaching a lot and decided to pursue a career in academia with a focus on teaching. After many many many job interviews (it’s really that many), I (unexpectedly) now become a lecturer here at UMass! I am really thankful for everyone who supported me during this long journey.

This semester (Fall 2026) I am teaching CS 230: Computer Systems Principles (with Joe Chiu) and CS 453: Computer Networks. Super excited!
