We spent most of today on an exrcise to manually trace the operation of various cache organizations, gaining a better understanding of how a cache works. There was some discussion of the simulator implementation of a cache and on the expectations of the first demo. We also began looking at the basics of pipeline operation, and next time we will do a similar exercise to trace the flow of some instructions through a pipe.
