Justin,

Duh ! It largely depends on what you have to read. No two readme's look
alike and you of all people know this.

Rick,

In a separate thread two days ago someone asked a similar question about
"Scenery Layering" : in that thread (Scenery Layering) you'll find an
unedited 10kb zipfile written by Ray Proudfoot that covers layering and
basic scenery installation. Grab that and read it.

Many scenery designers are very talented and clearly capable folk in
crafting scenery but when it comes to the written word they sometimes
confuse you. Clear and concise readme's are the exception, as you've
found out ; some don't even include any readme's at all. Some, like
OzPack's Australian scenery, and a few others, include setup utilities.
More than a just a few authors also have no idea at all of how to manage
zipfiles.

FSGenesis, MegaScenery, and several others don't conform to the
generally accepted 'norm' preferring to place their folders separate to
the "fs98\scenery\whatever" structure. No reason is ever given for this,
not that it really matters, but to someone who knows SFA about managing
scenery it's confusing.

Read Ray's excellent primer as per the above.

rgds,
