Nor does it take a doctorate in math or english to read <g> and for that
reason I compared FS98 and "the add-on" ($24.99USD) which in the UK and
the US is well placed at half the price of the Microsoft product
($49.00USD). In Pommyland the figures are different, the comparison
constant. For whatever reason in Oz it's the same price for both.
Perhaps you misunderstood the example and why I avoided exchange rate
confusion.

At those relative prices, sales are likely and consumers perceive good
value but if the publishers can't work out how to solve the problem for
foreign buyers (and Oz isn't alone here) they deprive authors of revenue
and they encourage piracy.

I replied to a post that expressed another concern at pricing of little
add-on's and the point has been made and discussed, and perspectives
made clear.

I think I might just buy a copy of PP99 and forget about little FS98/CFS
add-on's altogether. This little "add-on" cottage industry has become a
real cash cow for publishers and freight forwarders - and to a lesser
extent retailers - but it certainly has not for the talented authors.
I'd rather help support fs.com instead (which I do already).
