The 99 version is an improvement over the original but it still has some
weaknesses. The scenery and clouds are generated better (if you have the
accelator they mention it is much better). I have no idea how a "real" plane
reacts, I'm not a pilot, but this simulator has a problem with porpoising. I
find myself working the trim a lot more than I used to. The trim won't "hold"
either. The good news is that the AP will hold altitude now so that relieves
the tedium of watching the trim so closely.

There's good news and bad news about the ATC. It can be invoked for both take
offs and landings without a flight plan by tuning the ATIS of the airport. In
this version you don't have to force a lower altitude request to initiate a
landing sequence, it happens automatically but a little closer into the
airport than I'd like. The bad news is that on landings it always releases you
for landing well out to the right of the target landing strip and often too
high. Even for ILS/IFR landings it commands you to turn downwind then to base
instead of just talking you in.

I'm glad I got it. It may not be perfect but I still prefer it over FS98
(which I also have).
