I just got NR for my birthday over the weekend and I have a few
questions...

I have to select 'calibrate joystick' in the technical menu every time
we play or there's no joystick control. Is this normal? When we get a
wheel & pedal setup, will it be the same deal?

Is there anyway to get out of that annoying "retire" mode when you
choose to end a race? Or do you have to sit there for 2-3 minutes until
it's done playing?

The sound volume level control menu doesn't seem to be working.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to shell out $$ for this game or not...
my husband and kid like it a lot -- if one's not into hardcore online
racing, it's a lot of fun. I never had the time to devote to NASCAR 2,
so I never learned to pit very well -- between telling the invisible
crew what to do and negotiating pitroad, it was a disaster -- so NR's
auto pitting is kind of nice, though it really loses a lot of realism
that way (yeah I know, what a contradiction).
