Regarding FPS: There's two answers to that.  

If I don't use Metabyte's resolution enhancement feature (RE2Flex) then
I find no effect on FPS.

If I do use RE2Flex then I do notice a difference.  I can easily accept
the FPS drop since it's not that much and what I get in return is a nice
crisp display.

Sorry, I'm not offering an objective answer.
