AFAIK it's a problem when three things are combined. GPL, dx6 and 3dfx.
GPL and dx6 have very few problems ( Iv'e been running them together for six
months with no conflicts or problems at all.) and from what I gather this is the
norm.
It is definitely a problem when you throw 3dfx in there. Since I don't write code
professionally I won't and can't say who's at fault. There is a solution and that
is to put 2.53 drivers in GPL's directory and leave 2.54 for everything else,
maybe not what we want but it works fine. Of course there are other factors as
well like the system itself.
BTW I was wondering if you could expand on what you consider "glaring faults" in
GPL.
There are things I think could be improved as well, just wondering what you
thought.
