The banshee does have minor and very solvable conflicts with GPL. I believe the
answer is to install glide 2.53 in the GPL directory and leave glide 2.54 for
all other apps, like I said I am no techno weenie so this may not be perfectly
correct. The thriller is will give higher fps on 300 or less cpu's, more or
less equal fps with 3dfx on 350 and better cpu's.
Most users prefer the thriller's look but some go for 3dfx.  Perhaps you should
buy a thriller through a channel that allows returns just in case, then give it
a try. I must admit a certain amount of luck, I rarely have crashes or lockups,
just follow the basics and hope.
