I got it working, back when it first came out.  Didn't have to
do anything special other than drop my desktop to 16-bit color.

Maybe try downgrading your G200 driver to the version that was 
current when the G200 GPL patch came out.  Maybe 4.21?  The
news archives at www.matroxusers.com should have the info.

The driving line is badly garbled.  The readme says to turn it
off; I just can't play GPL without it.  I went back to playing 
on my Voodoo 1 and waiting for version 2 of the patch.  Since 
no version 2 appears to be forthcoming, the only hope for G200 
owners is that Matrox improves their ICD enough to run the 
OpenGL patch.  (I wouldn't hold my breath.  Even nVidia, whose
ICD is pretty good, still haven't done the optimizations needed
to get the mirrors right.)
