I have a P2/333 64mb Monster3D 12mb and GPL is fine in 800x600.

I wouldn't want anything lower for GPL.  If you do get
GPL you will not be disappointed (hardware wise)

As for GP2, I run it in low-res with maxed detail and can get 50-90% occupancy
everywhere.  I'll choose silky-smooth frame rates over 'pretty' (SVGA) any day.
