In the first place: racing at a 5 km circuit, which has a variety of slow
and fast curves is for me much more exciting than just turning left four
times a lap.

In the second place. On a well-built circuit (Which, I admit, are scarce
nowadays), it is not only the car's HP that counts, but also a great deal
of driver skill. On ovals, HP is much more important

In the third place. In the American racing series (not only NASCAR, but
also in CART and IRL), the racing is spoilt by those annoying safety-car
situations. So you only have to watch the last hlaf hour of the race to
see the decisions.

In the fourth place, those NASCAR-cars are like rolling bill-boards. The
GT1 or BTCC cars in Europe look much more tastefull.

In the fifth place, most ovals are almost the same. All tracks in the F1
championship or the FIA GT are essentially different
