It's normal in the sense that it's what they want you to do :)

I'm doing my first career mode with no damage, so I don't know about the
second question.

It _is_ hard to make that first turn, though, when you are airborne and
can't steer the car until the last minute :)

Personally, I despise Dundee's, or whatever that track is.  I'm forever
getting ass-ended in the two sharp right-handers (now left-handers in
PRO) at the end of that longgg straight (well, kinda straight :) ).

It's a boring track to me that a pain in the butt.
