I'm wondering what standards there are in terms of software support for
the different force feedback wheels...i.e., Logitech uses
Immersion...Microsoft uses something else...etc. Is one kind better than
another and more widely suported, or is the difference in force feedback
feel all wheel dependent. The reason I ask, is I'm trying to decide on a
force feedback wheel. I haven't seen the Act Labs RS or Thrustmaster,
but I've tried the Sidewinder and Logitech ones. The Logitech has
very different force feedback feel...more subtle, vibrating for example;
as opposed to the Sidewinder which is very jerky and bumpy. Some
software however, seems to support one wheel better than another. Viper
Racing had a lot of force feedback for the Sidewinder, but almost none
for the Logitech. In general, whenever I collide hard or flip in any
game, the Logitech doesn't give any force feedback, whereas the
Sidewinder really shakes. I'm not crazy about the Sidewinder though
because it's not a USB wheel, and it's more expensive than the Logitech.
