The V3 pretty much will NOT work on a table top (unless it's a VERY low
table).  So pretty much consider it an "in your lap" controller.  I'ts
various angles, though, can make it comfortable.  We just got the Mad
Catz (for the PC, but they're basically the same) for that very reason. 
Both controller's pedals feel pretty nice and both wheels FEEL as though
there's no "dead spot."  Time will tell...
