I took care of the 'triangles' in my case by downloading the reference
3dfx drivers from www.3dfx.com and installing them.  Not the Beta
Directx6 drivers, but the reference drivers for Voodoo-2.

I don't know what else I've broken in the process, but I'm sure I'll
find it :)

One thing - I have ended up with two 3dfx control panels.  The original
Diamond version, and the new generic 3dfx version!
