Hi Dave,

Do you have a friend with GPL and the *same*
ISP?  You want to be sure your ping and packet
loss are minimized.

Have you tried joining a race out of VROC?
VROC takes some resources (memory) by
having Netscape going.  I would terminate
all applications -- even the ones shown as
icons in the taskbar before starting GPL.
Get the IP of your friend or willing host
and do a controlled test with the 2 of you.

Have you touched your core.ini file?
The core.ini of the server should have
equivalent setting on the client (your pc).

Can you host games?  Get some willing
volunteers from VROC-chat and make
sure they know you are having problems.
Ask them to connect.  If no one joins in
5 minutes -- figure they had troubles.
