Did you change something in a memory arrangement somewhere? Increase
your desktop size/bit depth?

NFS3 requires 12MB of 3dfx RAM, and I forget but a minimum amount of
Direct3D card RAM before you will get the dashboard.

It's the main reason I sold my Monster 1, that worked beautifully for a
year, and bought a new 12MB Monster II that has been a nightmare,
especially in MTM2, every since.
