  Yeah, so the conventional wisdom has it, but the good news is that you can
pick up some pretty reasonable wheel / pedal combos for around $100, and, if
you've a mind to, you can even get the Thrustmaster Grand Prix 1 wheel that
has throttle and brake paddles attached to the wheel for around $30. I'm
being cheap and using it now and it works quite well.  There are people out
there using just joysticks, but they're probably a pretty special breed.
