I am running Need For Speed III on A PII 400 MHz with a Voodoo 2 SLI
setup and an AWE64 Value Edition sound card. My problem is that I am
experiencing 5-10 second sound dropouts in the game. I have the AWE64
full duplex turned OFF and I have "MIDI for Creative Advanced Wave
Effects Synthesis for AWE32" enabled. I am running the latest AWE64
drivers from Creative and the latest 3Dfx drivers. The sound dropouts
persist in all sound modes despite this and in software rendering mode
also. Nothing seems to affect the dropouts which occur in all aspects of
the game including the menu music. Sound works flawlessly in ALL my
other games including Quake 2 , Unreal, and Moster Truck Madness 2.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions for
eliminating these annoying sound dropouts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
