The FPU on AMD's K6 chips is okay.  It's non-pipelined (meaning that only 
one FP instruction can run at a time), so it won't keep up with Intel's 
FPUs under heavy FP load, but it's far better than Cyrix's.  If you look 
on Alison Hine's GPL page, you'll see that she got pretty good performance 
with a K6.

A K6 is acceptable for 3D gaming, even though it's not quite the match of
a P2 except where 3DNow is well-supported.  No current Cyrix processor 
should be placed within ten feet of a gaming machine, though.
