Yes, exactly, You'd have 1.5" of "free" travel, using only the spring. When you
hit the bumstop, it's spring rate, which is much higher than the spring itself,
is then figured into the spring force curve. The shorter the bump stop the
stiffer it is and the more abrupt the transition is between the spring and
it............. ie: it gets evil quicker :)

books.......it's in one of them ;)
