I think Geoff Crammond would say that GP2 was based on the game
engine for F1GP. The *major* improvement came from cpu power to
allow the much better grahpics? Geoff fine tuned the original game
engine from F1GP, this was only possible cos cpu power was increasing
rapidly. Even now GP2 is really at its best on a PII 400 or similar
spec pc, thats 2 years after it was released? Just shows you how good
a sim it really was/is! (if only 3D cards had been around then?)

I haven't seen FIRS2 so I cannot comment.

No, F1RS was released just before last Christmas in the UK, that
makes it almost a year old, theres quite a difference between 1 week,
and 1 year (eg:- like 53 weeks!)

Why? you are saying only those that lots of spare time can post real
fast times (but not saying it very well IMHO?) You are
correct in that, Generally, the more time you put in, the more you
will be rewarded, but you certainly *DO NOT* have to be unemployed or
at school!!!!

Thats a *BIG* generalisation? I buy a sim (and other pc games) for
all sorts of reasons. Not *just* cos there has been a massive change
for the better as you state.

I might buy a sim/game cos I like the look of the box, or cos a
friend recommended it, or cos a magazine I read recommends it, or cos
I played a demo and liked it, or cos I have all the others in the
series.

None of these reasons are *necessarily* linked to a massive change in
sim/game quality? Obviously if I buy a sim/game and it has had a
massive change in quality then thats a bonus, but Hey, I've bought
quite a few *turkeys* in my time too (despite what my friends,
magazines, the box, or people like you tell me).......
