The operation of the Sport & non-Sport models are identical. The
batteries and extra things hanging off it become options. The Sport does
have the VOR indictator & CDI, and I don't believe either of them have
duplex...at least I've never tried it. Time to check the manual.

One odd difference is that AA pack is longer than the nicad pack, so you
can't use the standard fitted case. Not that anybody will actually TELL
you that, mind you!
