Nope...dont agree...
now, maybe I am saying something slightly different,
but there were quite a few times, that my instructor 
would have me "ride along" on the controls....
especially on new things I was being shown, 
and more frequently on things I had fudged up...

frequently, what this showed (and helped with) to me was 
when to move a control, how far down I needed to push a rudder pedal.
Perhaps I was a little to timid with the controls or something
at that point. But it did work for me,
To be honest, I *did* have to get over a feeling that
I was paying money and time to watch this guy fly, and had
to pack my emotions away and get into learning.

I know, looking back, that I was a LOUSY student,
and amazed that my instructor had the   patience and perserverance to
put up with ME !

I agree....I wasted  a lot of time and money being stubborn!
