: Well, now, call me a fool but even though my plane steers with brakes,

You have a more complex mind than I! :-)

It's clear that the scenarios are all supposed to present a
situation where some decision (a through e) results in a potentially
hazardous result.

I simply assumed that on this hypothetical aircraft a brake failure
would result in a serious problem.

<snip interesting suggestions on landing without brakes. I'll have
tp remember the grass strip idea!>

: I guess that leaves me somewhere between answer a) and e),

I'd choose e, too.

: but I'm not
: sure that has too much to do with the 'hazardous attitudes' those choices
: are supposed to display, see what I mean? The underlying reasoning is
: entirely different. It has nothing to do with feeling that suggestions

: maybe more to do with the fact that I'm always thinking about "well what
: if X happens, what are the consequences, what would I do?" So does it
: really show that I have an "anti-authority" tendency or that I'm "macho"?
: I dunno. I guess I kind of wonder if it shows that the test was written
: by some psychologist who didn't know too much about flying, and what
: the consequences of certain situations really are?

I see what you are saying. I enjoyed reading your analysis of
the brake problem, but I think you may be over analyzing the test.
It's an *FAA* test, right? :-)

Cheers,

Rick
