QNH reads zero when your wheels hit the ocean water.
QFE reads zero when your wheels hit the concrete.

As a memory aid think of QFE as reading zero at Field Elevation.

The virtue of using QFE is that your DH or MDA is not some odd number.

Given an runway with a TDZ elevation of 1937 feet and an ILS DH of 200' AGL,
the number to remember using QFE is 200.
Using QNH you'd need to remember ah....2137.

The virtue of using QNH is that your cruise baro setting is close to your
landing setting. Less chance of
making a setting error especially for single pilot with only 1 altimeter.
Imagine what happens if, at the 1937 AGL
airport you neglect to dial in the QFE but think you have done it.
