1. Your "Student Certificate" need not be a "third" class.  It could be a
"first" class is you pass the medical portion and ask for the issue of the"
Medical & Student Certificate" when you make the application at your
Aviation Medical Examiner.

2. Your medical will NOT work as a "student certificate" if it isn't the
combined "Medical & Student Certificate."  You must request this from your
AME.

3. You can have as keep getting "Medical & Student Certificates" for as
many years as your want. (As long as you continue to medically qualify)
