Yep.  Gust lock same thing, when it's a-blown you want to put it
back when you're done preflighting but not yet ready to hop in,
but how to be sure you don't forget?

Another trick, I carry yellow post-its and if there's anything
in the preflight I have to skip (say, sumping fuel because I'm waiting
for the fuel truck) I stick a yellow postit with a note on the yoke,
or over one of the instruments.
