No, I meant what I said, although I left out the mention of rudder.
I meant, to perform (lets say) a slip to the left, first make
a coordinated turn to the right, then apply opposite aileron
(left aileron) as you feed in rudder to keep the nose there.  
IME it's a much smoother slip entry then just kicking the nose
to the right with rudder as you roll in left aileron, and less
disorienting.
