I took a helicopter demo flight a few months ago and the instructor said
that fixed wing pilots are much harder to train than people new to
aircraft because you have to 'unlearn' things. I took that to mean you
didn't have to do one before the other. She also said that learning to
fly helicopters was about THREE TIMES the cost of getting a PPL.
