Have you done any landings at an actual short field, especially
one which is also narrow?  By 'short field' I mean one which 
is near the limits of what your POH claims you should be able
to do at max gross (giving you more safety margin if it's cool
and you're lighter), what is "short" or not depends upon your
plane.

A couple of sessions landing on a 29'x2000 ft runway were
helpful in altering my perception of 75'x3400 ft runways.
