On a slightly different note...
There's an FSS on my field (JYO in Leesburg, VA). A controller there
told me personally that flight plans don't EXPIRE until 2 hours after
the proposed departure time. They're then deleted from the system if
they haven't been activated. I don't know how early you can file.
