Hitting that bump is the sign of doing the turn correctly, at elast,
according to my 6 CFIs and 1 DE.

From the Been-There-Done-That department: DO NOT do 45 turns solo, at
least not until you have a LOT more practice with them and an
instructor. After having related my story about my resulting extra
unusual attitude practice (a definite no-no with a student ticket), I
found I am NOT the only one to have done that.
