I don't know nuthin about indian regs other than that there's basically
no GA there. I suspect it follows the UK model.

For a Private in the US, you'll need a mininmum of a Class 3 medical
(Can you breathe? Can you see?) and at least 40 hours of logged time,
plus the written exam. Along with aircraft systems and weather, you'll
have to know about radio navigation (VOR, probably ADF as well),
something NOT taught to PP in most European countries. Getting your
licence in 13 months should not be that difficult, unless money is
tight. Expect about 60 hours of actual time (at least 40 dual) and
another 10-20 ground.

The average cost seems to be around $5000-6000, YMMV. That doesn't
include transport to & from airport or a place to stay. Or food. Or
books & charts (about $150). Or headphones (about $200). Or the neat
stuff in the Sporty's catalogue. Or...

Cheers--
