Forget the "even if the FBO said it was just filled up." I would check it
**ESPECIALLY** if the FBO said it was just filled up.

Filled up with what? Water, Jet-A, other debris? Did the line boy get the
caps back on good -- you would be amazed at how fast gas can siphon out of
that tank while in flight.

If I stop somewhere just long enough to grab a potty break, yeah I might not
check the fuel. But if the plane has been fueled, or even significantly out
of my sight you better believe I will check it. [FWIW, planes have crashed
because the FBO filled up the *wrong* plane - one got the fuel, another got
the bill, and the one with the bill just assumed it was full.]
