Take heart... it's not as bad as it seems. Annoying... frustrating... but not
all that bad.

No, you don't have to "start all over". Your hours are yours, your experience
is yours -- none of that changes. Every hour of dual or solo you have in your
logbook still counts just as much. [BTW, if your school was one of those that
keeps the students log books (never a good idea) make SURE you get your book
from them as soon as possible. Losing that book WOULD be a problem.]

The advantage of a part 141 school is that they are required to be very
"structured". In return the FAA allows them to crank out PP's in a minimum of
35 hours rather than the standard 40 hours. But since most students need more
like 60 to 75 to be ready for the checkride, the difference is not usually
important.

You will lose an hour or two while a new instructor gets used to you and you
to him - not a big deal, and sometimes a different instructor can be an asset,
no matter how good the original one was. [Back when I was a student, the
flight school I used went bankrupt about three before I was to take the
checkride. I called to schedule a plane, and the phones were disconnected!]
