Folks, if I'm reading this right, what we have here is a solo
student exceeding the limitations placed in his logbook by his
CFI. He knows it durn well, and he's doing it anyway not just
once to get down when the winds kicked up while he was already
out flying, but repeatedly.

DON'T DO THIS!

You are flying on YOUR CFI'S ticket. If something happened,
it's not just you, YOUR CFI'S BUTT would be on the line. If he
wants to be a professional pilot as so many CFIs do, you could
blemish or even ruin his career.

Your CFI put that restriction in there, not because he didn't
know on a good day with everything going right you could handle
more, but because in his judgement and experience that was a wind
he felt comfortable you could handle when the fit hits the shan
and everything goes wrong--a comfortable safety margin for your
good and his. If you're going to ignore your CFI's experience and
judgement, why is he your CFI? Isn't that a mite arrogant to figure
you know more than he does at 17 hrs of flight time?

Maybe you're uncomfortable up there for a durn good reason.

That issue aside, students, please remember you are NOT the only
one on the line when you solo. Your CFI's ticket is up there
flying with it. Be nice to them. If you don't care what happens
to your CFI's ticket when he's taking on the responsibility of seeing
to it that you fly safely and HIS career is on the line if you screw
up, all I can say is IMO the correct word for you is "selfish little
git".

Snow"did I mention I'm blunt sometimes?"bird

PS I was tempted to post something about "crybabies" who fly
illegally in situations where they are uncomfortable, then
"whine" about it on the group (a la exact wording in a post by
Mr. Ames complaining about posts and posters he doesn't like)
but it didn't "have to be said"; this did...

Don't violate your solo restrictions. Be respectful of your CFI.
