I think we'd agree that as a pilot you walk a fine line
between reacting immediately effectively and reacting
hastily.

If I'm 250 feet above ground on approach and the guy
in the right seat says the plane on the ground is pulling
onto our runway, I've got all the time in the world to look,
verify, and adjust my course to pass harmlessly to the side
while going around and maintaining visual contact. I don't
believe that that situation calls for drastic, immediate
reaction. Though we're talking minimal risk differences,
I think you increase your overall risk by reacting hastily
rather than evaluating the situation.

If I'm over the threshold, that's a different story. If
there's a qualified pilot in the right seat who shouts
"GO AROUND!" in that situation, I'm not going to blink.
(If they aren't a pilot, I suspect -- it's never
happened -- that I'm more likely to determine that they
are cringing at the sight of the asphalt rushing toward
the plane, which isn't all that uncommon. Especially with
the higher approaches that I prefer.)

In my example, it was the former situation rather than the
latter. :)
