I had very similar experiences at the same school as the original
poster, but mine was about 4 years ago. I started right after they moved
into the new building. I wasn't happy with the management, the student
contact, or the maintenance on the 152's. The instructor was decent, but
he got hired away pretty quick and the school never called me back. I
went in for surgery and was out for about 2 years (trying to get an
updated medical), and I started looking around at other schools. I
decided to switch to AV-ED at Leesburg and the difference was night and
day. The original poster's story is the fourth negative experience I've
heard. I've since seen Dulles Aviation, also at Manassas, and if it's
Manassas you want, I'd check them out. I may do my instrument there in a
year or two.

By the way, I went through AV-ED's formal ground school (2 nights/week
for 6 weeks), and I was very satisfied. Thay also have three locations.
