You can do a lot with an ordinary pencil or pen.

There are two excercises that I have been shown by an eye doctor.

The first one:  Hold the pencil up in front of your eye a few inches away,
and in line with some distant object.  Alternate your focus between the
distant object and the pencil point

The second:  Hold the pencil at arms length.  SLowly bring the pencil
up close, keeping it in focus as long as possible.  Then slowly move it
back out.

Do each of these for a few minutes on each eye individually.

There are other excercises that require some simple equipment.  If you
have an old 3D stereoscope, that can be used by making some 'target cards'
with any ordinary word processor.  The pattern you want on the cards
should look like this:

It should be sized for your stereoscope and the two lines of numbers spaced
so that the two number 4s 'converge' with no effort from your eyes.  By
focusing up and down the numbers you can stretch (or unstretch) your eye
muscles thereby making it easier to focus at long distances.  You can use
more numbers if you want, and start them farther apart.

I made several of these with the X and O at different spacings.  The point
here is to force your eye muscles to put the X and O on top of each other.

Another exercise that I do uses a set of small angle prisms, 2 to 8 degrees
or so.  Hold one up in front of one eye,base in or base out as needed by
your eyes.  You will see double.  Force your eyes so that the images converge.

Ask your eye doctor.  He can give you other excercises, or help you get
the prisms.
