Sounds like a leak or crack in the oil line feeding the oil pressure
and oil temp gauges in the panel.

I wouldn't fly a plane in this condition.  

It's common for trainers to have things broken or missing, but
these should be relatively innocuous things like cracks in 
upholstry or missing pieces of trim
