There are two reasons why I cancelled.

First I did not understand what the ASOS was telling me. It was giving
the ceiling in AGL and I thought that it was in MSL.

Second, the temperature was 53F with a dewpoint of 48F. My scheduled time
was 6-7:30 pm. The temperature would be dropping and with the low (so I
thought) ceiling, and decreasing light, I did not want to be up and have
things close in on me. If I had understood the ASOS correctly I would have
gone ahead and got in whatever time I could.

I want to be still flying when I am 85, and one way to do that is to be
conservative.

Jim
