I started out in a 152.  The FBO sold it and tried to switch me to a cherokee,
so I went to another FBO which had a 150.  Had a personality conflict with the
CFI ('wasted' 12 lessons before coming to my senses), so switched again to
an FBO which has a 172.

There may not be a difference in learning in either, but there is a
noticeable difference when you switch, which I also would not recommend.
The 172 has considerable more horsepower than the 152, and particularly the
150, so it was a while before I could keep it from running back and forth
across the runway on take off (engine torque).  

On the positive side, you have to 'work' at making it stall.  It _will_ 
stall but I really have to pull back hard on the wheel to do it.    There are 
also fewer 'precursors' to tip you off that it is about to stall, and when
it does it is gentle.  In the 150/152, as you probably know, there is no doubt 
that you have stalled.

In my opinion the 'balance' between amount of control input and what the
plane actually does is more to my liking than in the 150.

I agree with the other comments.  Stick with the 152 until you are finished,
then you can be checked out in the 172.
