Long ago I bought a '84 S-10 diesel in Arizona. Good truck, easy to
find fuel, no problem starting, and no rust (no salt). I moved to Ohio
recently. Hard to find fuel, mechanics don't have a clue, and talk
about hard starting in the winter. ick.

The truck now has 160,000 on it, and the injection pump just died.
Chevy wants $1250 for a new one. Even finding used ones is hard. I
don't want to throw away the truck, because it is an Arizona truck it
has the body of a 4 year old. But the diesel is a lot of pain out here.

I am tempted to put in a gasoline engine. Can anyone tell me a direct
replacement? Something that fits on the trannie bell, motor mounts,
etc? Is there a web site? Is there a book? Is this A Really Bad
Idea?

Thanks in advance
