It sounds like oil has drained away from the valve train and is taking 
too long to get pumped back in.  Since the car is for sale, you probably 
don't want to put a lot into it.  Get a can of crankcase oil flush and 
add it to your oil (drain out a quart of oil first).  Drive it for a day 
or so, then change the oil and filter.  When you add the oil, add a 
quality additive like STP or Motor Medic.  If your trouble was caused by 
a partially clogged oil passage, this should help clear it.
