Tokusan was studying Zen under Ryutan.  They both sat in the lotus position
under a windblown pine.

Presently, a scribe approached with a message for Ryutan.  

"Go and meet the scribe and return with his message," Ryutan instructed
Tokusan.  

Tokusan rose and stumbled over a root of the pine.

Ryatan touched his foot and Tokusan reached enlightenment.
