Subject: Coffee after Spring Break and Comet From: pedregal@eternity.cs.umass.edu (Message Meister) Date: Mon, 25 Mar 1996 09:50:01 -0500 (EST) Greetings. Today's MMC resumes, introducing, as a test, orange juice. This week we get a number of visitors --faculty candidates, announced by broadcast email, and prospective graduate students--. It is not entirely clear who is wooing whom in this matching/hiring/admitting/choosing game, but just in case Physical Plant has done its bit by darkening various corridors and staircases revealing their true dungeon qualities. Truth in advertising. Astronomical news: last week we had our Vernal equinox, and with it the official beginning of Spring, which some of us actually experienced with mixed snow and rain. Perhaps more spectacular, comet Hyakutake (pronounced: Hyakutake) reached its closest point to Earth this early morning. So enjoy the spring --but don't put those gloves away yet--!
