INFO 150: Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science

Course Requirements and Grading

Your grade in COMPSCI 150 will be based on the following:

2 Midterm Exams (40%): There will be two midterm exams. Each will count for 20% of the course grade. I will make up a practice exam, similar in length and difficulty to the real exam, and post it a week before the real exam. I'll then post solutions to the practice exam with a few days to go.
Final Exam (30%): This will be during the December final exam period as scheduled by the University, and will be cumulative. You will have two hours. This exam will count for 30% of your final grade. I will give you a practice final and solutions to it before the actual final.
Weekly Homework (24%): There will be weekly HW assignments for this class. Each HW set contains 4-6 problems. 24% of your grade is based on your HW.
Quiz/Attendance: Because our class size is small, I need everyone to attend every class section, as nearly as possible. (I can grant exceptions for medical or other conflicts, particularly if I am informed about them in advance.) Attendance is thus required, as there will be a graded activity in every class. There will be 7 quizzes for this class. 6% of your grade is based on your quiz grades ( each 1% since I will exclude the lowest grade).
